I was driving down 121 and saw a dead badger in the road  is the hair worth skinning it for  it was not real smelly. i think  i  could do it if i thought it wasn't a wast of time it looked in pretty good cond so I through it off the road  but I bet it's getting ripe any input

Getting ready for the Iso hatch.  I tied up a claret colored thread S and M nymph with peaxxxx ice dub for the thorax.  Anybody have another pattern.  I've heard that prince nymphs work pretty well.

Putah has many different species of fish other than the beloved rainbow trout.  I'm interested to know how many of you guys are mainly trout anglers, or if you use your fly rod for other species?  I'd prefer trout any day for their beauty and fight, but I've been using my fly rod for every thing else too.

This time of year...& for the next month what would be good to use in the Putah Creek, such as in flys? I always have great catch rate using a #12 hook w/ salmon egg. What does it mean by patterns? Is it the way the fly is tied or is there a certain casting pattern from fly to water?
