Anyway I am looking for someone who may be interested in trading fly fishing gear or a guided trip for a place to take my kid dove hunting. If interested give me a call. Thanks bono 707-480=38...
Getting ready for the Iso hatch. I tied up a claret colored thread S and M nymph with peaxxxx ice dub for the thorax. Anybody have another pattern. I've heard that prince nymphs work pretty well.

We made a last run above the HWY 20 bridge on Sunday, as the river closed today until December 1st for fishing that stretch. I thought I might see the first couple of salmon in the system, but none were around. It was another HOT day, near 100 degrees. The fishing was pretty good in the morning, but shut d...
My fishing this summer has been severely curtailed due to the arrival of my daughter, but I might get a free day next weekend. I was thinking about heading up to the North Fork of the Stanislaus or maybe nearby Beaver Creek. Anybody been up there lately? Are the flows too low now? Thanks, Eric
Here are a few pix of some stripers I caught in CT on my summer vacation. It was my first time fly fishing for stripers and, let me tell you, it was a blast. Having that much fun is usually illegal... I can't wait to go again. Anyone have a boat and know where to fish the Delta? Hint, hint. 19 fish to hand, all re...
All I can say to those guys who couldn't make it.....you missed a great time! Thanks again to Bob for hosting at his place. It was another good group of guys to fish with. The beer at the Blue Coyote was in full flow Thursday night. Right on schedule, Brian took another dump or 3 streamside. Shaun's new scr...

Bought a pair of Cloudveil Hellroaring Waders online. I'm pretty busy during the week, but my weekends are fairly free at the moment. As subject says, I'll buy beer/gas. I haven't wet my line all summer and it's just been too long. Let me know if you're interested and maybe we can set something up. -Jon

Putah has many different species of fish other than the beloved rainbow trout. I'm interested to know how many of you guys are mainly trout anglers, or if you use your fly rod for other species? I'd prefer trout any day for their beauty and fight, but I've been using my fly rod for every thing else too.
This time of year...& for the next month what would be good to use in the Putah Creek, such as in flys? I always have great catch rate using a #12 hook w/ salmon egg. What does it mean by patterns? Is it the way the fly is tied or is there a certain casting pattern from fly to water?
It took about an hour to tie, but here it is. My first crayfish pattern. Didn't really have the right material for a crayfish, but I did what I could with what I had.
