As you all know I never post about my days on the water unless a good funny story is to be had .
I shot up to the trinity for 2 days of fishing with 59 Pines..The Trin has been back to normal these last couple of years..Most days a good angler is looking for one mabe two grabs while on foot....Gone are the 12+ fish days a few years back....Safe to say 59 pines has spent the last 3 to 4 years beating the the waters of the trinity with no love..He has pulled a few browns and couple small half pounders out over the last few years. Last year He jump a small adult only to leave a tear in his eye seconds later..
The day had come. While hole hogging and fishing on top of me all day 59 Pines had a bend in his rod that could mean only one thing...Big crome...He faught the fish with fear in his eyes...I was afraid I was going to have a grown man in full tears on my hands if he did not land this fish. The trinity river gods must have had pitty on him and soon he was holding a 28" hen in his hands, yet there was a tear in his eye.Tears of joy. After 20+ day on the trinity he had won the war, he had pop his cherry ....

Beautiful fish 59pines. I love the Trinity. What section? Must be down a little ways to still have some good chrome to it. Wild or hatchery?
Congrats!

Nice fish there. The second photo is much better. Your avatar is definitely an action photo.

Will probably see you all tomorrow to see if we can land our first steelhead of 2011. There is only one good river not blown out within driving distance, so most of you know where the crowds will be.
