Putah Creek next week

I will be in the area all week and have never fished out this way before. A few people suggested this creek...How has it been lately? Any advice for a first timer? I will be in Napa and dont have much interest in the wine thing.. thanks ahead for any help.

What's the "ideal " fly rod for Putah creek?

May sound like a silly question, but I've only fished it once. What would some of the more experienced Putah veterans call the perfect rod (weight and length)? I'm going tomorrow. Should I bring the 4, 5 or 6? They are all 9ft or better. Any more info helps. Thanks.
