I was just checking the flows, looks like they are starting to climb a little.  You're probably already fishing at this point in the day so you will see first hand.

yeah Richard and I noticed that today, but more about today This was my first time really fly fishing (wading, spots on putah, learning the drift, mending and really the first time ever trout fishing) and I have to thank richard for taking a lot of time and being patient showing me the ropes and he did a fantastic job i think :) He put me on two fish, one I got to my feet (no net doh) and was about 14 inches long and one that I hooked but it rolled a couple times and got off ( Richard saw this one too). so none to hand but for my first time ever I was stoked to even get a bite and had a great time, learned a ton, including that i need chest waders my waist ones made me get a little wet (so if anyone has some for cheap let me know smile) met a new friend and now Im not nervous to go out on my own anymore now that I kinda know what to do, now its just practice and getting on the water.

so all and all great day for me and Richard thanks a ton and I hope we can get out there again.

Great job Kyle, and Richard, thanks for helping him out. Now is the time to get out there as flows will start climbing towards 500 cfs, then to 700 soon and the fishing will get tougher.

By the way, see any uninformed fisherman using bait or barbed hooks, or uniformed enforcement people?

Can't wait for the high flows, It'll be time to bust out the tube. Was out there last week and found somebody tossing bait, and the sad part was He was sitting right under a new regs sign.. I let him know about it, and he said he was unaware of the new changes, not to mention it wasn't even general trout season yet. no

ya I saw a few people fishing  with worms too boot I said something then went back to give them a lure that I found and yes I bent the barbs down that was at access one then stoped too talk to another grope that was fishing with worms  and he said that ranger at lake solano told him  I don,t know the whole story but he said that the ranger told him that to just make sure to throw it back and it would be ok with him with out the ranger patroling these new regs really will have limited effect  too bad ! its just like  the ESA  . FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DON,T KNOW  the endangered species act without any inforcment what the point too bad no I have never seen dfg up there

It seems to me that there is increased enforcement this year all over the state. That's just based on what I read and the fact that I've been checked for license and barbs myself 3 times in '10 already.

When you find poachers you have to call cal tip. Even if they can't get there it will put the creek on their radar screen...and if some ranger is encouraging poaching that needs to get reported as well. just my $.02...but I report every poacher I see.

Not only that, but I know many of us carry cameras when on the water.  The saying " a picture is worth a thousand words" is very literal in this instance.  Take pictures of the poaching, and you can inlcude these on an internet report to CAL Tip.  They very much want to see picture evidence as well.

The CAL Tip reports are a main force in asisting Wardens with enforcement direction.  Repeated reports will recieve action.

To all: take the time and complete a Cal-Tip report. If you write the info on the back of an Angler Survey Box form or under "comments" and put it in the slot-we'll see that Enforcement gets it. This is probably the only way we are going to get increased effort from enforcement-documentation, documentation, documentation.

Please also continue to educate the uninformed.
