Man - no posts for a long time.

Guess all of you were bait slingers after all and the new regs have crimped your style!

In any event, has anyone been out lately?

Flows are way up (which I like) and the temps are hot.

Last night (got there about 6:15), there was a very nice baetis hatch (I think they were baetis) as well as sporadic PMDs and PEDs.  Saw one or two caddis.

Fished my usual circuit on access 5 and I'm starting to figure out where the fish are.  They move around it seems, but most in the access 5 area are juveniles; got about 6 yesterday with none over 12 inches, but most over 8 inches.  Tightlining the deep fast water can be effective if you stick with it and set up on them correctly.

Got a couple grabs from small fish on dries later on, but the hatch wasn't strong enough to encourage reckless feeding.

What's going on with the rest of you??

JL

As I live in beautiful Fairfield now I get up to the creek at least once or twice a week. If you are using the secret weapon you can usually pop at least one or two fish over the twenty inch mark. Even the 16 inch fish are putting up a good battle. Give me a call Jerry and we can fish the high flows. The delta is my next big adventure!! I bought the book about fishing the delta. Just need to figure it out.
