I have been pondering this question recently. Why choose to go to a creek, river or lake with rod and reel in hand? Why not just take a pair of hiking shoes and a camera or maybe a pair of binoculars to observe the wildlife? Im currently formulating my own response but I would enjoy hearing others thought...

Flows over the spillway were about 200 cfs. It was cold and overcast all day. Fishing was typical for this time of year on the Lower Stan, wi...

With the Yuba at 19k on 12/20 and then 12k on 12/30 the Yuba has been blow out. But with a recent letup in the rain, I...
Im over the "redds" thread because its going no where and is completely unproductive at this point...and I know others are over it too. I wanted to start a new thread that focuses on ideas of how to approach and educate other fishermen while promoting the sport of fly fishing. Also feel free...

I talked to DFG today to see what was going on across from the campground at Access 1. I have been seeing DFG people at the Audubon Gate. Apparently DFG and Audubon sponsored a pig hunt on the Audubon property. Four pigs were taken all around 200 pounds. Now that is a Putah Pig!!! I may have to get a hun...

Hello All, I have been lurking these pages for a couple of years now and thought I should introduce myself. As a Winters native I have fished the creek all my life and pronounce it as Pu-tah not Pootah as I hav heard many of you say. I am not one to really post on forums but I will chime in from time to time. I...
So I'm pretty bored, so I thought I'd put up this pic. I played golf 2 weeks ago right next to piece of water. Your only hint is that it is in NorCal. Edit: Crap, it came out pretty small so put it up on your BIG monitor. -- Edited by Ty on Monday 20th of December 2010 04:07:44 PM
The new 2011 fishing licenses are computer generated. They slide your driver's license through a computer. My guess is if you have tickets you will probably be denied... Anyways the steelhead cards are now about two feet long. The salmon cards required for the Smith this year are about 3 feet long...
