No New Posts Big Browns and Planters (Preview)
Hi All, I have been away for a while and was thinking about a trip up this week or next. Any news on the planter front, have they started? I always want to avoid the sections with those hopeless little guys in it if I can. Also any word on bigger browns?

No New Posts Late saturday night (a few more small fishies) (Preview)
OK - it's offcial. I've caught multiple small natives two trips in a row.? Got one 9 inch feisty little sucker tightlining a deep pool.? He took an orange caddis pupa.? That was the only take I had on a nymph in a few hours of nymphing.? Can't believe how slow the fishing's been on nymphs in traditional spo...

No New Posts late thursday night... some small fishies (Preview)
So, I got out very late, (around 6:45) and fished till dark. Was a perfect evening, with no wind, 75 degree temps and a pretty good stone fly, baetis and midge hatch.? Not many caddis. Not much surface action from 6:45 until 8:00 or so, but then as soon as it got almost too dark to see a small caddis on the sur...

No New Posts Putah Creek Friday April 25 (Preview)
I fished for 3 hours this morning and landed 7 fish, 5 of them were planters. The issue that has been bothering me?the past 3 trips to Putah is the large number of people who are clearly violating the fishing regs, even after the Puath Creek Trout organization installed all the new fishing regulations s...

No New Posts Crap Fishing and Pike Minnows?? (Preview)
Well, I read Bono's post and thought I'd go out this evening (Sunday) and see what I could dredge up. Aside from a few fish rising spordically in the lake near the bridge at dusk, I didn't see a trout. I did, however, see three large Pike Minnows (that's what I believe them to be - Greg or someone else - do you...

No New Posts Salmon in Putah (Preview)
In 2003, there were about 70 salmon spotted in Putah below the diversion dam. There have been relatively few since then. They have closed or will likely close both commercial and sport salmon seasons this year all over because of poor returns. Since there was talk of a possible salmon sighting in Put...

Ken Davis, stream biologist, has reported the presence of fingerling trout in Cold Creek.? These fish will he come trapped and die when the creek dries up later.? If you have a fine mesh net and are there, you might want to try a different kind of trout fishing to help the population grow.? It is particul...

It seems like most people on here have an obsession with the elusive brown trout of Putah Creek. I think I may have caught something even more rare last week. Hooked it on a 4wt, put up a great fight. This was caught on Putah Creek...just maybe not on the upper section.
