Hi all. I'm an East Coaster visiting family in Napa and am hoping to get some fishing done while I am in the area. I will arrive in Napa on August 14, and will be staying for about a week. I talked to people at your local fly shop (did a search for Abel dealers in the 94558 zip code), and they mentioned Putah Cre...

I hit Putah again this weekend. It was a great day overall, especially because I introduced a good friend to fly-fishing and he caught (or at least hooked) a bunch of fish! We had the most action on micromays in sizes 16, 18, and 20, though we also got some good action on callibaetis emergers. Overall, we...

Hey guys, Just fished putah this morning and afternoon and had NO luck.? Not even a single bump for me or my buddy.? We're both pretty new to fly fishing, but I usually at least get one fish and a bunch of hits when I go. Wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or fishing the wrong areas. We started up near th...

No New Posts A Solid Day (7/05) (Preview)
After a late night of celebrating on the 4th, I managed to get up around 5:30am to drive over to Putah. I started out at #5, as there has been quite a bit of hype about it on the message board...I was definitely not disappointed. In roughly a decade of fishing Putah, I'd never fished down that low. It's a lot...

So, one other reason I love Putah is the wild blackberries.? Man are they good right now.? As I got to the creek, flygirl was hiking out with a giant ziploc full of them.? I was quite jealous! anyway, we chatted for a while and agreed to meet up for some evening fishing sometime soon. Headed down and had the...

Got out to the creek Sunday evening around 5:00 PM.? There were a few mayflies in the air, but it was pretty windy.? Tied on? my typical tightline rig for my usual access 5 loop (similar to MX-19's access 5 loop I'm sure), and had at it. Well, I got two decent fish to hand (12-14 inches) in one pool, and then s...

I haven't been fishing long, I'm still learning and I have a long way to go, but I learned a very valuable lesson Monday out by the bridge..... There is a very fine line between chest waders and a bucket.

Got out to the creek sunday around 5:30.? Hit access five. didn't see another person, which was nice. Was still about 90 degrees, so I decided to wet - wade.? I may not do that again b/c the poison oak on the trails is becoming pretty hard to avoid, and waders can help with that. Anyway, as I headed out to the...

Oh, and these flies are mainly for trout. Oh and what is a good size for woolly buggers? Thanks! -- Edited by seabass at 19:28, 2008-06-04 -- Edit...

I found these glasses on the back side of Access 5. They have transition lenses, are prescription and have a magnifying triangle attached to the bottom of each lens. Frames appear pewter, although a bit corroded. Lenses are still in pretty good shape. PM me if they are yours.
