March 1st Lake Solano became a catch and release water, barbless artificials only, year around. The reg was changed (paragraph 180.6) to remove the the interpretation of the loose language of paragraph 147 "from Solano Lake". Hopefully, this change will help bring back the lake fishery before it...

i found what I believe is a reel handle in the no.4 parking lot . It's a light bronze color and has a notch in the part that goes into the reel. Throw me a line and I'll throw it in the mail
Hey All, Trying to find out any info on the float from highway 20, to either sycamore ranch or hammon grove. Anybody do that float? Just got a new pontoon and wanted to make sure that it's not too advanced. Thanks in advance.

I floated Bonnyview to Anderson yesterday in my pontoon. It was a BEAUTIFUL warm day. Caught ~ 10 16-18" HARD fighting rainbows. Half on #6 brown rubber legs and the other half on #16 Dark Lords. I trailed a micro may all day without apparent interest... Size 16 tan mayflies were in the air mid day. A...
Anyone have old/ unused adult small waders (either boot or stocking foot) waders for cheap/free? My teenager needs a pair but I don't think he will use them often before he outgrows them. I will pass them on when not needed... You can text/ contact me to coordinate purchase/ pick-up in the Sacrament...
Spent 4 hours down below the bridge. The water was way higher than from 2weeks ago and not muddy but full of particulate matter. And the fishing sucked. Nada, zip, only one strike. But it WAS a beautiful morning. -- Edited by mudhen on Saturday 16th of April 2016 05:06:59 PM
Drifting dry, mend. Lurking shadow bolts then rises. One fly, one fish. Lavender and green, lupine beckon. Along the trail, memories of change. River of change, rushes. Again and again, rhitogenia morrisoni, flavor of the moment. Oh the bend of cane. With friends, we hike, new and old, we become...
Making room for some new toys. I am parting ways with my pontoon boat. It has been a great boat that has been very lightly used. It makes a great lake and river fishing boat. It can handle pretty good sized rivers too. I have rowed down the Yuba, Trinity, Rogue, and Truckee. Comes with oars, anchor,...
Below are pictures of one of the two 21" adult spawners found dead along the creek bank on Friday. They were found near a major redd area. The one pictured had appeared to have been foul hooked behind the right gill with the line wrapped around both sides of the upper jaw like a bridle and had worn gro...
I live over in Sonoma County but I usually fish the Lower Sac from a drift boat. Im trying to get on some new water and try some wading. Ive never fished Putah before and just wanted to know if there is access on the west/south side of the river. It kinda seems from the map that I can get there from the Lake...
I'm planning on going to Berryessa sometime next week to fish the banks from a float tube. Can anyone tell me the regs, as far as checking in/inspecting my float tube. Thank you.
People from all over the map all converging on access 4 and 5 flogging the water to a froth. Mud all over the place down by the bridge and a pale colored bottom on the tailouts that the fish don't like because they stand out in contrast. And a fresh vibrant crop of poison oak on the trail to the rock garden...
With Spring lookin like its right around the corner here in the north bay, that means bass fishing will be kickin off soon. I would love some info regarding fly fishing for bass; techniques, rods, reels, lines and flies. What are your favorite patterns to fish with? What kind of setup do you use if you ar...
The water in the run at access 4 is very cold when the bank crumbles away as you are walking down to the creek and you, get pitched ass over teakettle into the water. And wet too! Note to self.; extra clothes in car.
Went out today with my son to check out the creek. It's still very stained with limited visibility. We only fished a couple of hours. One to hand caught by my son. It was a great day.
if you fish the run downstream of the spawning area at no. 3, out where the stream opens up, beware of really really deep mud deposits right off of the bank. I went up to my thigh quickly and I know there was more down there

Now that the spawn is winding down, has anyone been fishing? Any reports? I hope to get a day or two on the creek this week, but am concerned that the rain and after-effects from the fire have turned the water into chocolate milk.
Figured I let Putah rest one more week and was hoping to get some info about fishing the Moke below Camanche. Any info on flies, or locations will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
