I know this is not the for sale section but I never get any action there... I have a box of approximately 90 hand tied flies for sale (including the box). I went through all my flies and these are extras I'm willing to sell. You get the whole thing for $40 shipped, that's about .40¢ a fly....can't beat that....

Thinking of going to the creek maybe next weekend, just wanted to know what people are using for set ups. I useally use a long leader around 10 to 12 feet 5 X and then 5 X tippet, usually swing flies. i  know that asking people to show you a thing or two on a body of water is kind of like asking someone to tell you...

Greetings to everyone! I thought I would throw in my first post. I'm new to the creek, but throwin' fly's for a number of years. I ran across this site and have read past entries thoroughly when I realized how passionate you folks are about conservation, reds, clean up etc. I'm impressed and consider my...

I also fished Putah today, its the first time ive fished it in about 4 months.  I struggled, 4 small fish to hand.  Not very crowded which was nice this must be due to the poor fishing.  When I fished 4 months ago I told myself I am done fishing putah but once again it sucked me back in.  Im just very frustrate...

I decide to hit Putah today, giving myself only a 1 hour drive for some fishing.  I think this was the first time ! fished Putah in 11 months????  It was like seeing an old friend again.   There were only 4 other cars parked along the road, I'm curious if this is because the egg bite is happening on other riv...

After being skunked numerous times at Putah, I finally got into a few today.  Nothing huge but nice wild fish.  The wind was howling in the trees but right on the water it was fairly calm.

No New Posts Putah Tomorrow! (Preview)
I am thinking about hittin it up tomorrow, any ideas of what the flows are supposed to be like?  Wondering if it's worth the drive.  I looked at todays flows below 100.  This is my first year fly fishing, so I am trying to figure out the flows and relating it to what I can expect!  Any ideas?  Thanks

I think this is a stickleback.  Caught it the other day by access 5.  It was only about 2" long and uglier than a mo fo.  This is not the actual one I caught but this is what it looked like.  I false hooked it on a midge.

Yesterday Richard, Sarah, and I headed out for a quick morning outing. I had great luck in hooking 8 or so fish, but horrible luck bringing them in. The normal spots with the normal techniques were slow (probably from pressure this week), but some high-sticking with no dropper and a lot of weight produ...

I finally convinced MX 19 to show me where the fish were.  While waiting for MX 19 to show up African Angler and Rgloft spotted me on the creek.  We all went fishing where we were all sworn to secrecy and I finally landed a fish.  RG and the African angler were having fun as well.  I was nearly swept down to...

Just as I was heading into a good spot, I ran into RG Loft - whom I'd never met.  We went up stream and whacked a bunch of fish, but the fish got tired of us catching them so I moved further up stream. RG got to see me fall down smashing my right shin and hip and filling my waders part of the way up while fishing nea...

Hey All, I finally decided to stop working around the clock and spend some time standing in the middle of a river waving a stick around. Richard, Sarah, and I hit a "top secret" (not really) spot on Putah and we all had a good afternoon. We ran in to JL on his way out too - hopefully he'll share his...

The flows are really coming down.  The creek looks very different from last week.  After I finally found the fish I landed  4 out of 6 hooked and got this little beauty.  My best of the season so far.

No New Posts Weed Growth in PC-your opinion? (Preview)
It appears to me that the weed growth in the creek has been expanding each year, covering more area in its usual slower water sites and expanding into faster areas where it has been absent or almost so. This year it appears particularly bad. We would like to hear your views, since it is one more environ...

Well boys, we me and my buddy were down fishing Putah Creek and hammered some huge trout in the Riparian Reserve. Rgloft and I both hit up the creek today. We each caught a fish, mine was a dinky yearling and his was bigger, 8-10"? Did see an Osprey out there too, I guess they wouldn't be around if there were no fish. -Jon

No New Posts How many fish can you catch in 2 hours? (Preview)
If you go to the right spot right now, you might catch more than you can count, ranging from 6 inches to 16 inches, as I did from 5:00 to 7:00 last night. JT special and a grey zebra midge were killing them. If we get the regs passed for next year, perhaps the entire creek will reemerge as stellar. JL
