Orvis Sling Pack sale through 10/12/14

I have the smaller Safe Passage sling pack and really like it.  This is a steal at this price.  Good through 10/12/14 midnight.  The only downside that I have found is that they are not waterproof and so if you don't take care you will get your contents wet.

Dan , I bought the smaller one and it's awesome.  Only thing is I usually use a chest pack that has a loop behind the neck to hang my net.  This doesn't.  Where are you keeping your net?

Yes, that IS an issue.  I have a magnetic net keeper and have zip tied one magnet to the adjustment buckle which is close to the back of the neck when the sling is in the "put away" position (lower back). I am not completely satisfied with this though as the net ends up being a bit on my left shoulder.  I'm not sure if there is a better way with the sling system....

I guess everything has it's plusses and minuses....  I personally like the sling form factor the best so far.  If you figure the net issue out - let me know!

I have also played with using a carabiner on my wader suspenders but it tends to tug a bit...

I originally got it thinking I was going to use it when steelheading so I wouldn't use a net, but it's so awesome I'm going to use it all the time.  I guess I'll have to figure something out.  Collapsible net maybe?
