I like to travel light and move fast so I'm looking at the William Joseph magnetic closure chest packs.  Any of you guys using it?  If you are using any other chest pack, what brand and how do you like it?

Taylor,
I just got one and LOVE it so far. I have the smaller model (Amp) and Im also thinking of getting the bigger one too. It holds a medium size fly box and everything else I need. Its pretty low profile too which I like. I was a little skeptical about the magnetic closure at first but now that I have used it a few times I dont think I can ever go back to zippers. WJ makes good stuff and I would definitely recommend that chest pack.

I have the simms headwaters tech pack. and I love it. Light weight, not only a back/chest pack, but the chest pack can be used as a sling pack too. Also orvis has some really nice new packs out. New Passage packs. light weight, nicely priced, great quality, not ugly like the previous year, chest packs that can be used as a sling pack, but also a sling pack that is a sling pack that is very nice too.

Thanks fellas, I really like the idea of the magnetic system.  I checked one out at Cabelas a few weeks ago and they only had the small one in stock.  I thought it might be too small so I didn't buy it.

Sounds like you are taking lessons from Cole...next thing you know you'll be wearing jean shorts, stashing a beer in the back pocket, and high-sticking with tippet tied to your finger!

i have a fishpond one. mine is the chest/backpack. i like that it can be a chest pack, backpack or both. i also have the water bladder for the backpack. the backpack is a little heavy with the water bladder full but in summertime when im hiking up and down streams the water is very nice. the chest pack is light weight and can hold a fair amount of stuff. it has a built in flybench but i just use a small flybox. i am very happy with this pack.

santa brought me a Simms Headwaters waist/chest pack. I took it to the creek last week and it was only when I was gearing up and getting ready to hit the water that I realised there was no D ring on the thing to hang a net. I ended up hanging it from my belt which was a disaster.

In fact there are no D rings anywhere on the pack. I also miss my foam drying patch.

I'm planning on customizing it with a little heavy duty nylon to add D rings and I'm going to glue on the drying patch from my vest.

Anyone else have this pack? how do you carry a net?
