Sunday 3/21 "Informational Posse"

Just a final wrap up for this Sunday.  We'll meet at Fishing Access #5 parking lot at 9:30 AM.  If you have a heavy duty stapler, bring it with you.  Same goes for a small ladder or two as well.  I have the following people who have graciously volunteered their time:  SK60, Brian Clemens, Dr. Bombay, Emerger, Jvento, Oneweight, African Angler, Stlhdr, Blackcloud and Rippen Lips.  Thank you guys so much for doing this.  These events are what make the regs change work.  I will be happy to pick up post event refreshments at The Buckhorn as a gesture of thanks.

Steve Karr will bring the new regs signs, some surveillance signs and the regs change info cards (these can be handed out on the river to anglers).  I will have some clear caulk.  We'll have a little info and strategy session before heading out.  Come ready to fish as there is ample time to hit the creek as well.  It seems like it might be easiest to meet up at the Buckhorn in the late afternoon or so?

Thanks again,

Bob

Hey all,

Thanks to Bob, Steve and all the other guys for organizing this and getting all the signs put up. It is always fun catching up with the PCT crowd and being able to help the creek. A good day was had by all, if not a little beter for some than others!?! biggrin

Cheers

Alastair

PS Thanks Bob for the "refreshments" at the Buckhorn afterwards.

A big "Thank You" to the people who were able donate some of their time Sunday, March 21st and assist PCT with resigning Putah Creek with up-to-date regulations signs.  I would like to personally thank:

African Angler - Alastair Rimmer
Stlhdr - -Mike Leslie    Mike drove 2 hours each way to be with us!!!!!!!
SK60 - Steve Karr
jvento - Jon Vento
Brian Clemens
Dr. Bombay- Shaun
Blackcloud - James Haan
Otter - Chris Yama

It made the task much easier and we all enjoyed several hours of fishing.  The only fish hooked up between all of us was the beauty that Alastair landed.  Brian did run into some people heading out to bait fish and was able to save them a possible problem.  There was just about no fishing presure yesterday.  Very strange for sure.

I had a great day. It was my first time to actually see and walk the creek and it's a little beauty! Got to watch Alistair land his nice fish, which was a treat. Sorry for not joining for refreshments, but I thought it better to dive into the going home traffic with my remaining wits intact.

Good to meet you guys and I'll be heading back up there soon for another try...

-Mike

I was out there today with my buddy who's just learning.  The signs look great and are everywhere.  Great job guys.  Matter of fact two gear guys got to the bridge lot checked out the signs and bailed, so evidence that it's already working.  Fishing was tough today for us.  Only one fish for all you trout slayers and of course it's Alistair.  Dude the fishing gods have been around you a lot this year, very very good job and not giving up the spot either.  Hopefully see you guys at the movie fundraiser.

Cole

A big thanks to Bob for the lovely refreshments, a few beers, a few 14oz steakburgers and fries, with some great laughs. Good times. Even a special treat, an otter showed up at the buckhorn too. Again thanks Bob.

its nice to see the flows starting to get back up there. We fished it at 85, and it looked lower than ever.  Havent seen Putah at 85 in a long time. Glad there are going up, and the fishing can only get better.

Thanks Bob for putting this together. It was a good time. Always nice to meet up with the guys from the board. The slow fishing just reinforces the need for what is being done. Nice fish Alistair ! What did it hit ?

Not sure what the exact name is but I would say it looked like a 22 Black Mercers May with a dark red glass bead. If that is any help.

I will be getting some plexiglass to cover the new regs. Alistair and I said that would probably happen.

As a word of follow up, the Warden was out patrolling Putah Creek this past Monday.  No word of what transpired, but he was working the area in Putah Creek.

Let's talk that up as an "educational point" to the uninformed.
