I picked up a used rod a while ago, it has the Sage logo on it and the description is "9' for 6 or 7 lines" and matching tube with the same markings. There is no serial number. Anyone know anything about old Sage rods? I'm just trying to figure out what it is. It's built on a gray blank that is rough, not sanded smooth. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes back to the early 80's.
I don't know the time frame they made the RPL but that sounds like the ones I have seen. The ones I saw all had labels though. A rough blank? Taken to the shop yet to ask them?

Hi CJ, that seems to be closer, though the marking says "Graphite" and not "Graphite II" etc. I found a pic of the DS and the blank has the same color and rough finish. Anyone know the name of the rod that preceded the RP?
I found some more info and pics, I guess this is the original Sage RP before the Graphite II came out, making this one a "graphite I". Still catches fish and that's all I can ask. Handled best when I loaded it with a WF7F, I had a 6 weight on their first but that was too light and the reel itself was too light.
