BC, part of that large group of functionally okay rod manufacturers out there that simply comply to make a rod, but don't actually innovate. Its all about price point. Simply said.

Hi Brian, I own 1 Albright rod, a 9' 5pc. 6wt. It's an A-5 model which I got at a great price and I love it. To be honest I haven't fished it more than a dozen times or so as I use it primarily for float tubing. These rods are designed here in the U.S. and are manufactured in Asia. BUT............................. They are light, crisp, really nice casting rods that are nicely finnished and for the money, a fantastic investment( even as a back-up rod). One day I compared the Albright to my 9' 5wt Winston BoronII because I was really impressed with the Albright and wanted to look at it along side an example of rod building's finest. Well, while it is no Winston to be sure, it was hard to believe that there was around a $500. difference in purchase price for the two. And the A-5 series isn't even their top of the line series!  The next time I fish Putah I'll  bring it with me in case we run into each other , so you can check it out. See you, Viking

If you still care...I own the 5 wt A5 8.5 foot 5pc which I got for backpacking and traveling. I now fish it over some very expensive sages. The rod is very light and has great power for casts up to 70ft. I got it last spring and fished it all summer even though it was supposed to be a travel rod. I still fish one of my sages if I expect large fish or need to cast long distance, but for 100 bucks this rod is awesome. Dont expect the finnish to be like a sage....think China.
