Does anyone else have a problem with the reel seats coming loose or coming completely off on flyrods ? Its happened to 3 different rods just in the past 5 months or so. Its easily fixed but a bit annoying. starting to wonder if its something I am doing wrong.

Do you tighten the reel down super tight?  If so, that could be the problem.  If not, I don't know what to tell you.  You're the first person I've heard of with this problem.

My reel seat comes loose but only because I bent my reel when I took a fall on the bank one day. Tore my waders in the same fall. It doesnt fit right in there anymore and loosens by itself. Luckily the reel bracket is so bent that is stays wedged in and the reel wont pop off.

I guess i ain't the only one out there with this problem, I went to my flyshop and asked about this, The guy grabs a rod from behind the counter with the reel seat missing and said "oh you mean like this". He said he see's alot of that problem. Maybe i'm tightening it down a bit to much, Ya know with my extreme buffness thats easy to do rofl.gif
