7WT rod question....

ok well we all know i have been talking about a 7wt rod, i found a brand new 10ft 4pc 7wt on sale for 145, its a redington redfly2, i have the first red fly in a 6wt 9f 2pc fast action rod, and have loved it for steelies, i have thinking the the extra foot, and the 7wt will make a big difference in my abilities on the water. and also if i am not mistake, the redington red fly 2 model, is made after the sage fli rod. yes not the same, but as far as construction and action yes.

any thoughts on this. i am thinking of gettin it in the next few days, well before wednesday which will be my next AR trip, i already have a reel and 7wt line, and wel since i am at work today, yes superbowl sunday at work, i will be puttin the 7wt line onto the reel,

so again any thoughts, and if you think that this a good deal let me know. 145 is a pretty good deal considering everywhere else is asking 200 for it, redington sells it for 180.

thanks
brian

I have a Winston Ibis 7 weight that I really like.  It is 10 feet.  It gives me a little extra length for reaching and flipping weighted flies.  It also has the backbone to fight big steelhead, admittedly I haven't fought that many, but when I have its been a wonderful rod.  I've also caught many big trout with it.  I can bring them in a little quicker which I believe lessens their stress when I release them.  Although I haven't fished a Redington, I think you would like the extra length.
