Hey, Even with the heat, if you are wading without waders it feels great. Two of the largest arteries run down through the legs and guess what? The heat is very tolerable. I fished yesterday and hooked up two which I lost but what the heck. I used a 16 hare's ear on the upper and a 18 micro mayfly on the lower with a #4 splitshot above the first. If that doen't work, then you can always get out in the lawn chair with the sprinkler on.
Well, since nobody is out there wet wading on the creek 'cept me I figure I am now loosing what's left of my allotment of neurons. I'm out there on the stretch above the island slapping an indicator rig upstream over and over. Then, there it is again, a large rainbow leaping clear out grabbing a nice juicy dragonfly then back in again. . . Then, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! I think it looks like one I caught last week, what a punk fish. I'm going back in there with my skillet, dangit.
Thanks for all the advice yesterday. I am looking forward to bringing my son out and introducing him to Fly Fishing on Putah. I hope to catch you on the Creek again.
