Date: 04/24/2020 4:45 PM
Good afternoon:
Yolo County Parks staff would like to provide a quick update on the status of our parks. Earlier today, the Yolo County Public Health Officer issued an amended Order today, April 24, 2020, allowing specified outdoor recreation activities, and an Order requiring members of the public and workers to wear face coverings. The Orders can be found here: www.yolocounty.org/coronavirus
The following parks will be open to the public by late afternoon today, April 24, 2020:
Knights Landing Boat Launch
Elkhorn Regional Park Boat Launch * (see last paragraph)
Clarksburg Boat Launch
Putah Creek Fishing Access Sites
Grasslands Regional Park
Pursuant to the April 24, 2020, Order, social distancing (minimum six-foot distance) must be practiced at all times by park visitors, excluding only members of the same household. Additionally, park visitors must wear an adequate face covering when unable to maintain a six-foot distance from another person at all times, excluding members of the same household. For example, face covering is required when boating with another person not of the same household.
Please note, all other parks operated and/or maintained by Yolo County will remain closed for the time being. We will provide an update on when these parks will reopen as soon as we are able.
*Due to water levels dropping in the river and an increase of mud on the ramp, we are unable to deploy the dock at Elkhorn Regional Park at this time. Launching larger boats at Elkhorn Regional Park is not recommended under current conditions. Please use the ramp at your own risk. We are working on a solution and hope to have it resolved very soon.
Thanks for your interest in and support of Yolo County Parks!
