I'd go if I was still in state. It's always been tough finding travel partners here. I never did fish the McCloud. The Pit is car friendly but water temps could be an issue. I used to avoid it in the summer due to stress on the fish. I'm not sure if that has changed with the increased flows?

Winter eats heat the way darkness swallows light. The terrors of failed power and frozen stems are stymied with fire, smoke and white ash.
Id love to go fish the mccloud. Tried to get up there for opening day this year to fish it for first time but they increased the flows like a day before i left so ended up fishing the upper sac and hat creek instead. Unfortunately am pretty booked this month but would be down to go later on somewhere else if its too hot by then, always looking for someone to split gas and fish with.
