so I’m watching these guys fishing various rivers on the East slope of the Sierra ( the Owens etc. ), and whenever these dudes hook anything over 12 inches, the guide uses this long assed handled net with an opening big enough to cover an Elk to net the thing, after first wading out and landing it with 20 feet of line still out. What kind of wimpy sh&@ is THAT? And oh yeah, the “fight” consisted of keeping a tight line until the poor trout was tired enough to drag over to the guide. Eff that, you call yourself a fly fisherman? Then net your own damn fish. Ok , I feel better now. It’s time for a bourbon 🥃. Happy trails!
