Early Spawning Activity

FYI, I’ve observed early activity with fish showing signs of spawning. Not just staging signs but actively playing chase and paired up. If you see fish doing big swirls or paired up in shallow water, move along to other spots.

Thank you for the heads up. It's probably time to leave the creek alone.

Stay away from the wide shallow area where the tree fell across the water down from access 5. Ditto for the gravel area down from the old spawning place on 3, and especially for the wide open area at the top of the creek just before the water spills down to the flat before the resort.

Probably should stay away all together. Any mature fish is gonna be spawning at this point. Regardless the area you think they aren’t in.

I agree with the fact that the fish spawn all over the creek, there is no fixed 3 or 4 places that they do their thing. I’ve found many many areas all over the creek that the fish are actively spawning. So don’t be lead to believe that if you stay away from a couple of we’ll known areas that you will not be catching fish that are trying to procreate in peace.
