Creative Sports fly shop in Pleasant Hill, is in danger of closing , thanks to last year's heavy snowfall and people buying their stuff off  the Internet. So GO BUY some stuff there. I'm talking to all of the people in the Walnut Creek Lafayette (sp.) area. yeah, you might save 20.00 on new waders but what are you going to do when they leak on the second trip. He also has a gofundme page. When all of the small fly shops are GONE, where are we gonna go when you need real advice.Wake up folks and support your local shop.

I live in Pleasant Hill and go by there whenever I can, but they carry such a small inventory that sometimes its impossible to buy something.  Last Christmas I got a gift certificate for Creative Sports for $100 and i had a really hard time spending it, I ended up buying a pair of wading boots that are still in the box.

I hope they survive, but it would be great to have a well stocked shop to go to.  Seems to be a chicken and egg situation...they can't buy inventory if they aren't selling anything. They cant sell anything because they have no inventory.

If you need something that Creative sports doesn’t have in stock Jamie can easily order it. If I want something I know he doesn’t carry I’ll ask to see the manufacturer product magazine he orders from and tell him to order the items I need. We need fly shops in the Bay Area.

As far as answering phone calls, if you’re calling for things other than fly fishing materials or fly fishing gear more than a handful of times than your phone call might be avoided.

Went by the San Carlos shop a couple years ago, it was going downhill then. Tried a bunch of times to hit up Creative sports but never open.

What Jamie offers is knowledge. I have never seen him oversell either a newbie OR a vet. His knowledge of California waters took years of fishing to amass and is freely given. But it is more than that. America used to be full of local fishing shops, both fresh and salt water and they are rapidly going extinct. You may save a few dollars at bass pro shops or cabelas, but good luck finding someone there who can advise you on whether or not you need that 900.00 sage rod. And be honest about it.

It's unfortunate but you can't stop progress. It's kind of like when people were protesting the railroad. It put all the wagon trains out of business.
