I headed up to creek to check out the flows yesterday between classes. At 7140 cfs, they were incredible! The creek has since receeded to 6500 cfs. We saw some changes in the areas around the creek with the last high water and I'm sure we'll see many more changes when the flows return to normal. Where Cold Creek enters Putah, the rock pile will probably be broken up a little. The stream-side brush will be thinned out all along the creek. Who knows what it's going to look like. I hope the flows drop quickly so we can get back out there soon, but realistically they won't. The flows on the American River still seem pretty steady, but I'm sure they'll start releasing more water from Nimbus Dam soon. Oh well. It looks like we'll all just have to wait it out.

I was watching the flows right as these last set of storms began to see how high Berryessa was in relation to the glory hole. Overnite I knew Putah was pretty much done for the season when I saw the flows rise like they did. Wow, 7000 cfs is incredible. I guess its covered most if not all of the access point parking areas.
I've been preparing my fly-fishing itenerary for this spring and summer in the sierras. I can't wait till the end of May to get going...
Last time the flows came down to about 1,000cfs from being way up me and my buddy mike did well with about 4 fish above the resort. I can't wait to get back out there.
