advice for fly fishing on putah creek (new to fly fishing)

hi their, I'm thinking of visiting  putah creek to do some fly fishing with my kids.i usually fish the sierras using bait/lure but i have now taken up fly fishing.i have done some research on the internet about the catch/release regulations.however i would appreciate ANY INPUT anybody has on putah  creek that would make my trip enjoyable (type of fly or any spot that would be good for kids to fish)

If your teaching your kids to fly fish, Putah wouldn't be the #1 spot to do it. Lots of trees and underwater snags to have a beginner out there on. Only clear spot is the bridge and as of now it's off limits due to the fire.
