Here's the deal...I'm changing my tactics again this year!
A couple years ago it was all about ditching the indicator and it's been great fishing ever since. What I'm going to do now is go more Euro. I got myself an 11 foot 4wt medium action rod (greys streamflex). I'm going to spool the reel with nothing but backing and maybe 100 yards of mono then go straight to tippet - NO FLYLINE...direct contact nymphing.
I haven't use fishing mono in many many years so my question is what mono out there has the LEAST memory? If you don't know what I mean, memory is how the mono holds the curls coming off the reel. I'm looking for a line that remains as straight as possible coming off the reel.
Depending on where you are fishing I would go with Seaguar Fluoro Invisx, not mono. It is about $20 for 200 yards. From my experience Fluoro is better. Invisx goes down to 4 lb test. Tying in a sighter of colored line is good.
