Probably the reason you haven’t got any responses is that a lot fewer people fish Putah during the Summer. Current flows are now over 750 CFS while Winter flows run around 100 CFS +/- 50 CFS. During the Winter you can walk along the shore from spot to spot without much trouble. You can also cross the creek in many places. Now, with the high flows, you will have more difficulty getting a good drift and getting your flies down to the level of the fish. In addition, you can’t just walk the shore from spot to spot because the water is too high. Finding fishable spots will usually require a lot more walking. It can still be worth fishing the stream during high flows, but it definitely will take more effort.
Thanks for the info. Really helpful I have been doing a lot of exploring. Crossed a few times and so forth. It is a very tough time of the year to fish it. I'm just get ting to know the area again so come low flows Ill be ready
