Putah Creek-Great Fishing

Hi All,

Had a great day (late afternoon) on P.C. After a lame start, sorry Keith, I ended up in Ukiah. Let this be a lesson to you all, never have serious business discussions on the cell phone while you are also looking for road exits to get to your fly fishing grounds.

Anyway lunch in Ukiah was pleasant with a nice Elk Burger, and some talk of rainbows up by Legget on the Outflow Creek.

I got to P.C at 4pm and quickly got into a 8 inch bow with a huge stimulator that had an olive body, stripping it back against the current. Not the best method for fly fishing, but hey it works. I am impressed with the dark olive tops on these bows, and how fat they are as well. After a long winter of discontent-no fly fishing-it's nice to get on a river and catch something.

That's my report, seemed like summer, the air temps were hovering in and around 76...by the way. I had another conversation with a "local" who claims that Soda Creek (?) on the other side is loaded with big hungry trout, anyone know about this stream, or can suggest another creek in the area. I did pass a place that offered trout fishing on 128 with a creek that fed it.
