Anyone care to give the creek a shot with me on Friday? Shooting to get out there not later than 10am.

Don't you work?  If you go you should buy or tie up some bright flies.  I have been having a little luck with neon green/chartreuse flies.  Try a bright green midge or Hogan's Better Baetis (Cal fly fisher 10/05).  I think the fish can see them better.  Good luck and tight lines!!  The fish are not biting with authority, lift on any movement, and use alot of weight.  I have been using two ABs on a 6-7' drop from the indicator in the slowest water, size 18-22 flies.

Hey KHB,
I'm thinking about heading down there tomorrow morning... ish. It's been really tough all over lately. Give me shout in the morning and maybe we can fiqure out how to get a couple on in all this water. 530 304 2711... If I dont hear from you, I'll be in a silver isuzu rodeo, and probably start at area 5.
Tight Lines,
Dave

I am thinking of fishing PC early Sunday a.m. for a few hours.  Would you please give me an update on your fishing day?  I am particularly interested in your take on wading; I do not have much weight in my waders and thus am very interested in where to stay away from!  Thank you.

I went out this morning, mostly at access 5.  There were several guys out, and we were able to wade across to the island.  If you are familiar with #5, there is a path cut through the thorns on the far bank where I usually wade across.  About 50 ft up from the dead tree in the middle of the creek, you can see the rock bottom and it is fairly shallow.  I waded across there with no more than 18 in of depth.  The current can be a little fast, so I used a wading staff.  A couple of other guys waded it without staffs and had no problem.

On the down side, I didn't land any fish, only one strike on a black bugger.  But it was a beautiful day to be outdoors and on the creek, and I ran into a couple of guys I know to pass the time with.  Good luck on Sunday.

I only spent an hour or so fishing #5, I was kind of waiting for Sharkdiver, but my cell phone does not work out there and we lost touch, so I moved up above the bridge, where I caught 4 fish in the 10" to 16" range, all were above the bridge right at Cold Creek.  1 on a princes beadhead nymph, 2 on a zebra midge, and one on a chartreuse woolly bugger, I was using the midge as a dropper and no indicator, it was to hard to tell how deep the water was.  I moved below the bridge for about 30 minutes and got a few hits there.  I was very happy with my fishing day.  Ran into chemdoc, a new guy I just met Stan, and the weather was gorgeous.

Things sure changed with that storm.  I like the lower flows myself

Thats my story.  Sharkdiver did you ever make it?

I was up there on Saturday morning, the water was high but I managed to land one in the 16-18" range above the bridge & below the creek on a black woolly bugger.  An Osprey flew overhead with a nice 10-12 incher, apparently he was unaware that this is supposed to be catch and release at this time of year.  I didn't have any luck below the bridge, there seemed to be a lot of tangled lines that I kept getting hung on.  I tried high sticking some nymphs but the currents and frequent tangles in abandoned lines were a little too taxing for my wading and nymphing skills.

I tried a black bugger through that slower water too, but had no luck.  Were you using intermediate line?

Nope no intermediate line, however I was actually out in the swifter water, down stream from the turn a few paces where it speeds up and out.  I would cast into the slower above so I gave my flies enough time to get down, then drift that kind of fast seam right up close, and then out a few feet, and then out a few more feet.
