Good idea, deaddrift Im a newbie to the area I would enjoy meeting you all, at the very least so when I see you on the creek I have a vague idea of who you all are. also be a spot to bounce ideas around and possibly improve the overall fishing

couldnt agree with ya more 101,I have fished this creek for the past 4 yrs and know a few good spots ,when the weater gets a little better and the water drops we should hook up

I agree that it would be a great idea. I have met some of the regulars at the annual cleanups and I usually ask anyone I meet if they post to the message board. It is nice to put faces to the posts.

I have often thought of the same thing and I too think it's a great idea,my only problem is lack of time.Hell I cant even keep up with this website!!My schedual includes coaching basketball:football;tying flies for sale;running my landscape business and being a father and husband.But I would still like to personally meet all of you Putahites,maybe we can arrange to have a Pizza and beer bash or maybe meet at one of the upcoming Putah clean-ups and doing something afterward.Give me some ideas or input and I'll roll with it.Thanks for you're interest.Greg

heres an idea for starters,why not put in a post for those interested a day of all us guys and gals ,to meet at a spot say on a sat or sun and get to know one another and then we might just strike up some friendships or say just set another time to fish with who ever we fit in with best.
heck its a start and who knows maybe start our own putah creek fly fishers club,
cant be all that hard heck I was a member of the napa valley ff club and not much happenin there so just my 2 cents but for those interested chime in and maybe we can have a mini bash at the creek.

I met chemdoc by chance one day and it was a nice morning of fishing as we shared "Putah" knowledge...limited as it was.

A "fish out" is a good idea...

BTW...What is the Creek looking like. The flow charts still show it running high. Thanks. TMS

Sounds like we need to pick a date and time for all of us to get together,but first I have to check with the wifey to verify a date and she's gone on a business trip and will be back in a couple of days.I'll post after I clear a date with her. Thanks. PS the creek is slowly lowering but I still think it will be over 800-900 for qiute some time according to Solano Irrigation Dist,which in my mind is still very difficult flows to fish successfully.

Seems like I just started fishing again, and now I gotta wait.

P.S. Anyone do much steely fishing? I know nothing about it, but would love to go sometime.

yup I do a fair amount ,up on the T and closer to home I hit just above sunrise in sac,took this beauty

took it round november, on a yarn salmon egg I tyed.
just like trout fishin ,only them are on roids lol
have caught em on a 5 wt ,but 7 is better ,maybe well hook up

Sounds like a good idea. I spent some time fishing with ChemDoc the other day and also met up with SCM.

It's a good way to get to know other forum posters, share some info, and also support the creek in a positive way.

It's getting to be a busy time of year. I know I get streched thin with hunting seasons coming up, I usually find some time to fight some salmon and definitely going up to the Trinity this year to get on some steelies later this fall. Than the Truckee's gonna go off real soon as well as Putah. weirdface

i would definitly be down, i always like meeting new people to fish with, talk to, get stories and advise on fishing. since i am new been to putah twice, first time out meet jt, if it wasnt for him, i would have been doing everything wrong. havent meet anyone else, and its always a blast meeting new people.�but ya i would be all for meeting up, just would have to give me a heads up as well, bono you have the wifey, which you need permision from, and i am a manager at a car�dealership which is just as bad. the only day that i have off is thursday, but i think i could work something out. hey if anyone wants to go fishing on the 18th let me know, its my bday and thats what i am probably gonna do. either putah for trout or nimbus for salmon. if anyone is free let me know.

Allright guys (and gal).� We have lots of interested folks but no one has�yet proposed a date, so I'll do it.

This saturday - around 7:30 or 8:00 AM.

We should meet at access 5, divide into groups of 2 or 3 and head out to various spots. We can meet up again around 12:30 at maybe access three ( I think there are some picnic tables there) for lunch, join some others and head back out for the afternoon/evening session.

Can someone verify if there are picnic tables at access three or if not there, where we could find those to hang for lunch?� If we each pack a lunch and some bevies, we can have a few beers together, eat some of flygirls fly-cookies and trade stories, fly patterns and whatnot before switching up groups and heading out for the afternoon session.

I live in San Fran and would be interested in carpooling with someone (bonefish, wyat, anyone else?)

Thoughts?

I could also do Sunday.

only prob with that is this weekend will not work for me. hey jl just an idea, lets see what time is good for people on here as far as weekends, go, this weekend next weekend and so on. i know i am good for next sunday, saturdays is definitly have to be at work day, but next sunday would work for me. so i guess lets just have people post to see what day is good and we can make a date from there.

Just a thought maybe we should put it on hold until JT gets back from his trip. He is a big part of this board and I'm sure he'd want to come out and fly party with the rest of us.

hey good point there chuck, definitly wait for jt, i really cant wait for him to get back and go pig huntin with me, when he told me that i thought pigs as in wild bores, thats my new york huntin comin out, but then he said no pigs as in trout, i was like hell ya, so ya gotta have him there.

hey thursday you down for some putah fishin, ill be there for most of the day, in the morning ill have one of my co workers bank bait fishin, probably have him get some red power bait and some worms, have a bobber and he will be good to go, and as you know got 80% of the right gear now, just get more flies and some 8 lb mono

Maybe you should try a date thats a little further away so everyone can kinda plan for it. Maybe make it like a little get together to kick off the winter season. Just a thought, I'm free every weekend. I rarely if ever fish with anyone else so that might be a nice change.

Yeah I like Captain's idea. Give everyone a chance to plan for it so they can clear their schedules if needed. We'll also have more room to spread out when the flows drop.

also sounds good, now that i just got wind of me moving over to another lot of ours, instead of assist manager ill be the manager, i will need to clear a day as well. only thing is i know saturday would be a no no for me to get off, sundays work pretty darn good, how are sundays for everyone else. i think if we can pick a day out of the week, which will be the harder of the 2 then plannin a few weeks out would be a lil easier. just me 2 cents, i know i am a newbie so it might not count.

I agree.� I don't know if anyone mentioned it, there was alot of posts, but we should try after the season change and less people?� I have nothing against bait dudes but if we get a good number of people it could be crowded.� The barbecue beer bash deal is right up my alley and I would love to fish too.� Although' you should fish before the beer bash as I learned that the hard way a year ago. bleh
