I went up to Putah today just to see how bad it was, and yes, it looks bad. I happened to follow Bono as he checked out some of the areas, so he will probably have a detailed report later.
I did post some pictures on Kiene's message board, so those of you too far away to get to the creek can check them out at http://www.kiene.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=2403. Here's hoping the flows drop soon and the fish are still in this county.
LOL the picture you stated as the Glory Hole outlet is off by about 150 feet.
The actual outlet is further downstream. You needed to walk another 30 feet or so East and take the pic to show the outlet for the Glory Hole.
As kids we used to climb over the fence at the dam lookout and follow the trail (yes there is an actual trail) to the bottom. We landed some nice fish at the base of the dam and have been inside of the Glory Hole outlet numerous times (no water flowing through it of course). If you run up the sweeping elbow you can just barely peak up past the bend to see daylight. Granted thats the time some kid decides to toss rocks in from above
On another interesting note I've watched trout try and swim up into the Glory Hole when the water was very low. They wouldn't make it very far before getting blown back out and resting in the eddy on the side for another go at it.
Yes Bono we are getting old

I guess Phil spotted my giant truck with my even bigger logo "Bono's Flyfishing" on the back window,I guess I stand out like a sore thumb.Anyway yes that is what I was doing, surveying the mess and I was wrong yesterday by guessing the gloryhole was not yet over the top. This is the earliest I can remember it going over,This usually doesnt happen "if it happens at all" untill around late Feb or March.I did take alot of pictures of different areas around the creek and will post them in the picture area of this site ASAP.Unfortunately for us fisherpeople because of the high lake level and the resulting gloryhole over spill we won't be fishing Putah for awhile, just keep an eye on the flow rate on this site.Any donations for an unemployed flyfishing guide will be greatly appreciated, you can drop the funds off at the Dixon Burger King where you can find me sweeping floors!!
