I just noticed that the flows had increased substantially this morning from 75 to 154 CFS. Is this an indication that water is being released from the dam (e.g. the glory hole has overflowed)?
My brother and I were considering a trip out to tomorrow afternoon, but I am worried that it might be blown out.
I too was hoping to head over to the creek tomorrow but was worried about the creek going up. I am new to the area and have only fished the creek once about a month ago, when the river spikes like this does that throw the fishing for a few days? I would really like to get some time on the water before I have to go to work next week.
My brother and I ended up having a great day. Fairly clear conditions up high. 5 fish to hand, 3 shook the hook (one of these a real monster that left me with shakes afterwards).
Go-To flies: zebra midge (20), black WD-40 (22). Surpisingly, no luck whatsoever with egg or worm patterns.
The creek went chocolate today (Thursday), water flows are only a little higher than usual. Still caught a few in that one hole that everyone probably knows by now between two and three. One guy told my dad and me that he foul hooked 3 fish near the mouth of that run...kinda pissed me off. Any way BS, is BS, im pretty drunk right now so . . . lots of people today, most said they were trying to get in one last day before the creek was totally blown out. I caught fish in various holes on ph fb 18, and wd-40's olive 18-20. Good luck! surprisingly fish can see in zero visibility I don't know how. Good Luck all.
