So I'm chillin with a cold one at the local dive before I go grocery shopping today.  Giants game is ending and an expedia commercial comes on.  They are showing clips of all these couples traveling the world and right at the end is Matt Heron with his monster brown he took on the Truckee(the one he tackled to land)  Has anyone seen that?  If you blink you miss it but I thought it was pretty funny.  I'm too lazy to look for a link or put one up  but you should check it out.

Hey I saw that the other night.  I knew that footage looked familiar.

Here is the link to the full commercial. Last year the video went viral. Apparently Matt didn't release the first version. It is one of those where were you fishing... It looks pretty bright to me... Spawner or not? I wonder what the local guide FRaank pesciotta thinks about the commercial....

I wasn't trippin on the video like some guys.  I thought it was funny actually.  And like you said Chris browns turn a crazy orange when they are full swing spawning.  As far as a fish setting up like that...game on in my book.

Matt did receive a heap of Internet smack talk for this fish. I know him well enough to know that this fish was not on a redd. If she was spawning Matt would not have coasted to her especially with a film crew around.
No doubt it is a lake brown in the river to spawn, most likely staging where he found her. Catch 22 with this one because the only time you would find a fish this big in that river would be in the fall with these bruisers coming up to spawn.
