April and May when the rivers are still a little high. I have found you can have a lot of fun in the lakes. One of the lakes is by Almanor and is full of small mouth bass the other good lake is full of brown trout that fight like crazy!
Your right Chris, lakes are lots of fun. I have been trying to fish them more the last few seasons. I have been a river guy for so long it took some getting used to. I soon realized how much great fishing I was missing out on especially with all the lakes here in California. Plus I own too many vessels that float on the surface now to not fish them anymore.
I think those photos will make me invest in a float tube this month Otter! River fishing has been really good recently in numbers, but nothing of that size! And certainly river fishing in these flows has had a lower fish/work ratio for me.
