Parasites?

Not sure the effect on the fish.  First time I saw them was back in September.  Fish still fought hard and seemed okay, but they do make nasty sores on the fish.

I've been noticing multiple fish with what looks like parasites. They are small pale yellow worm like beasties about 1/8 - 1/4" long. I see them typically on the fins or areas on the body that look injured. I can easily scrape them off but they are definitely adhered to the fish. I'm guessing they are the larval form of some other bug. Anyone have a clue what they are? Anything we can do about it? What should I do for the fish? Is there anything we can apply to these areas that will help the fish? I'll try to take a picture of it next time.

Lake Berryessa's trout are infested as well. Unofficially I have been told they are harmless, kinda like acne on humans. You can gently remove them by lightly sraping them of with a fingernail, obviously be quick and gentile otherwise dont mess with them, you could do more harm by handling the fish than the parasites would do.
