Yesterday I hooked a super pig. The fish dragged me down the creek for about 50 yards for what seemed like 20 minutes before I finally yanked so much I finally lost it. I nearly had it to net 3 or 4 times, but i couldn't land it. I would estimate the fish to be 22 inches or larger very fat and very wise. Redemption was made today, I landed a 20 incher between access 2 and 3. The trick today was I put as much pressure on the fish as I could as soon as I hooked the fish. This technique has worked several times before, yesterday I let the fish keep running, and get into fast water. Fly of the week is a Fox poohpah tan tied on a size 18 2487 using peacock herl instead of ostrich herl. Fly no 2 is the BWo from last week. The most consistent fly is a size 22 black midge emerger, but it hasn't seemed to attract the Putah pigs.
