The creek flows will be going up tomorrow to send a pulse down the lower creek to assist any salmon to come up for spawning. The flows are usually raised to around 100 cfs for several days; until Dec 5 this year. There is a need to knock holes in beaver dams below the diversion dam all the way out to the Sac river. This operation is scheduled Wed Dec 7 and Thurs Dec 8. If you would like to float 5 miles of creek and tear holes in the dams, send me a PM and I will put you on the potential team list. Canoes, PFDs, shuttle service provided.

I fished PC today and once again I think the USGS website is off on the reported flows. IMO, it was already 100cfs today instead of the reported 56cfs. I fished it last week at 57cfs (reported) and rocks that were sticking up were under water by 6 inches this week. The current was much stronger and areas I easily waded last week were barely attainable today.
I also think the fishing was affected by the higher flows. It was slower this week vs last week which was pretty good.
You're probably right, they were up 6" yesterday from last week, weeds were coming down from the dam in floating islands of green mats, lots of foam in back eddies. Anyway they'll be up until Monday at least. This might also put the (trout) spawners onto the redd areas.
The USGS site is broken. I have been noticing this for awhile. I was seeing if I could get skunked by just fishing from 4:30 to 5 last night and I finally did. The flows were about 100-120 cfs. When I looked at the flows on the USGS site they are showing about 56 flatlined.
Fishing to try and get skunked, I love it Chris, sounds like every time I get rigged up and go fishing. Might as well have a pet one in the back of my truck. My buddy who is an old coastal fisher was telling me a great story yesterday about how those suckers are diggers. He has been having problems for years, upturned lawn, holes and tunnels in his lawn. Thinking it was other ground dwellers like moles. He got some traps, threw some cat food tins in there and low and behold he got one. Big sucker too. He's a catch and release guy so he "relocaited" it to another drainage system close by his house. LOL
Yeah it wasn't so bad. I washed off the smell with the bud light with tomato juice.
Speaking of moles. I had this mole terrorizing my new lawn all summer. I tried everything from traps to earth shakers no luck. That sucker finally left when it rained for about three days.
My mom got her old car sprayed by one while she was going up her drive way. Melted the paint in some spots, no joke the side of her car had paint flaking off of it by the bumper. But you're telling me you can wash with tomatoes while drinking bud light and that takes care of it...perfect, if I ever get hit I know what to doI am curioius how that clamato beer tasted BTW.
