Parr markings and "young of the year"

I have noticed a lot of young fish in the creek compared to last year.  (Ed Note: maybe because I am actually catching some fish this year).  I have heard that parr marks usually dissapear ~ 1 year old.  What I have observed is fish with very different size having similar parr marks.  Are these from different spawns/cycles or just runts vs...?

Parr marks remain on many of these fish for more than 1 year. DFG has done some aging and PC fish may grow to 6" or more their first year. That's why so many of the little fish look like footballs.

Its not just the little guys, There all footballs right now. Quite possibly the fattest trout I've caught anywhere.

Yeah, I would definitely say that by the look of the trout they have no problem finding food. Most of them look ridiculously fat.
