I appreciate the posts from KHB and Otter. They were very informative. I went out this morning rigged for both nymphs and streamers. I fished for a while with a Fox's poopah and red WD40 dropper and managed to hook one fish. I then switched to stripping a woolly bugger and the action picked up substantially. I landed 7 in a couple of hours and had many other strikes as well. Nothing real big, but a couple were nice fat 14 inchers, which to me are still great fish.
I did see Greg out guiding this morning about 10:30. Hope you had good luck.
Still fishing up in the bushes or is the creek a little more manageable for wading now? I was planning on heading up to the Pit this weekend but family duties don't allow it :(
Probably hit Putah Saturday afternoon till dark though the latest new calls for winds up to 25mph.
It's been so long since I tossed a line it otta be good just to get out.

Winter eats heat the way darkness swallows light. The terrors of failed power and frozen stems are stymied with fire, smoke and white ash.
The flows are down to 221 cfs now, so wading is much easier. Places that were difficult to manage a month ago are no problem now. Of course, there are places that are fast and deep even in the winter, so you just have to watch where you step. Good luck.
