Lower Sac report

As I continue to watch stream flows that hover around the Dow Jones index on most rivers, cabin fever has set in.  I'm sure the Feather Low Flow is OK, but crowds gotta be big.  So, I took my son-in-law up to the Lower Sac with Ryan Johnston a week ago Friday.  It was his second time fly fishing and first time on a drift boat.

We were set to do a Bonneyview to Anderson drift, but it looked like the wagon train was right behind us, we changed to a lower drift at the last minute.  We ended up doing Anderson to Balls drift instead.  The day started out a bit on the slow side with only a few fish in the first hour or so.

Then, the fishing picked up.  We landed a bunch of fish during the rest of the day.  Nothing that was picture worthy, but a couple in the 18" range, with a large one lost.  Plenty of 14"-16" fish landed.  My son-in-law boated 15-20 fish himself on his first drift boat trip.  He had a big smile on his face.  It was a great initiation for him.  So, get out there, the Lower Sac is rolling.
