For the history buff, go to the link below where you can find over 400 photos of the process of building the dams. Pages 16-22 show the floods of 55-56, pages 46-49 show the 128 bridge and what the creek looked like there before the dam was started.

Those flows are insane, that is an unbelievable amount of water.  Very cool photos, I like the pics of the old homestead that were submerged, the landscape reminds me of up near Stonyford.  That was a different world and it wasn't all that long ago.
