Flows took a major dive today. Droped from around 200 to 39 in a few days, Thats friggin ridiculose ! I assume its the normal lame excuse "flows drop so they can clean out the canals around the diversion dam".
I know we hear it every year, after year after year. This isnt some sort of conspiracy to piss off the fly fishermen its actually the truth! Solano Irigation Disrict really does clean out the canal and inspects and performs necissary repairs this time of year, therefore they have to reduce the flows for a period of time. It sucks for the fishing and may impact the spawn or pre spawn a bit but the harsh reality is there were no trout in the inter dam area prior to the dam being built , maybe a few steelies during the high winter flows but thats all. I coach football with the gentleman who is responsible for the releases or should I say lack of, and according to what he says there really is no argument and things probably will never change. Hope this clears it up a bit. Bono
hey everyone , went to the creek for a couple of hrs yesterday and thought I would see dead and dieing fish trapped by the low flows but too my suppries it was not that bad at least in my oppinion I hope i am right here;s a couple of pics, this is right below the guide hole
