well only did a half day, was off the water by noon, not only was there some fish caught and lost, but also got some poachers caught as well. just below sycamore ranch, below the island there is an area that has some trees and brush pills in the water with some nice salmon holding areas, sure enough 2 guys where down there poaching using bait, pretty easy access to due to a dirt road that comes all the way down from hwy 20. bet they wont try that again. other than that, fishing was really good. the spawn is really picking up and a lot more salmon come in as well. lots of bugs first thing in the morning then tappered off around 10:30. with these next few days hitting 100, there should be some great morning and evening dry fly fishing.
off to the LT in the morning tomorrow, and if things are slow, which they wont be, might hit the Yuba in the evening for a epic hatch.

The LT is flowing pretty low right now. The Kokanee are pooling in the BC. I fished a good bit of the LT, above and below the BC, not a fish in site. There was one deeper run a few hundred yards up river of the BC that produced one for the guy that was fishing it. Other than that, low low low...
The Truckee however is looking pretty, especially below Boca. Although I didn't have the greatest of outings, there are lots of monsters in there now. I saw a rafting guide who told me that a week prior he had come up on a guy that had just finished landing a 36" 14lb Brown just around the bend I was fishing (I confirmed this story after doing some research online). Lots of crawdads in the Truckee right now. If I had another chance up there, I would outfit myself with some sinking line, sculpin imitations, crawdad imitations, and maybe some larger hare's ear patterns. Get down and deep where the big boys play.
If I like you, I may tell you where I was fishing ;)
Well i sure hope so, since i show you all my go to spots. lol.
