November 11-14 me and 2 buddies will be heading East. It's really cold but a great time to be there. May hike up to Kirman and try for some big Brookies, never been there.
Hey rich is this my formal invite for me? Or is it in the mail? lol

Fishing isnt about catching fish, its not about who caught the most, or who caught the biggest, its about the experience that you have on the water, and the life long bonds you make with others on the journey to becoming a better person inside.
It's very diffucult to fish Kirman from shore, Its a bog around the lake. You'll be disapointed if you don't hike in the 3 miles each way without float tubes. You should seriously look into green creek and the green creek beaver ponds its just a few mins. south of bridgeport. Its one of the coolest places I have ever fished !

I second that. One of my favorite streams.
Hard to pass on the view, too!

Yes, we'll have float tubes with us. I like the sounds of Green Creek. Never been there but have read about it. From the looks of the pics is it a little bigger than Rush Creek? What's in the beaver ponds fish wise?
I like Green Creek too, but haven't fished it this year yet. According to the Va Lakes web site GC hasn't been stocked this year. Here is the latest from them. Just so you know...
"GREEN CREEK has not been stocked this summer due to the logistics and constant abuse the stock trucks get if the road has not been graded. Discussion is ongoing. Will keep you updated if anything changes."
The beaver ponds usually have brookies and I doubt that they are all gone. There are more above Lundy as well that have fished well in the past. Have fun!
The beaver ponds have rainbows and browns that I know of. A lot of the creek is smaller than what Flying Dutch posted. Is that pic just below the smaller ponds?
Myself and whippersnapper fished it for a day we caught alot of trout and not a single one was a planter. Theres brookies, browns, and some bows. Heres a few picks from july.
What you don't see in these pics of Green Creek is all of the fallen trees crossing the river. There are tons of trees in the water which make great cover for those browns. I had a lot of rises casting in between branches. It was like bass fishing.
Eric, the pics were taken upstream of Dynamo, just past the bridge.
Rich, the runoff was in full-force while I was there first/second week of July.
Yep, I remember that hole. We fished Dynamo for a while, then we went up to the bridge and fished upstream from there. That hole is just below the slow flooded section. Tons of spooky fish in there.
