I just recieved an e-mail from Ken Davis stating that the invasive algea growth "didymo" has been found in Bear river here in N California near Rollins Res. Please help spread the word and go to these sites to learn more about what it is ,how to decontaminate, ect. Thanks Greg www.creekman.comwww.fedflyfishers.org.
Didymo is a dangerous invasive non-native diatom. It coats rocks with a thick layer like carpet and displaces many food organisms. Ken's full release is below. FYI there is a related species that can be seen at the tip of the island/Access 5 along the margins where the creek splits. It is gray colored and does not grow as thickly (not a threat).

I work on medical equipment and recently went to UC Berkeley. They are going to see if certain types of frogs would eat that stuff. When they are tadpoles they eat alge, so they are testing to see if the tadpoles will eat that stuff as well.
