My brother and I just got back from camping on the North feather. He just turned 18 but was traveling during that so we didn't get to hang out. He has never flyfished before but has been asking about it finally over the last few months. I had also been wanting to see this river again after 10 or so years. We had a blast and he got his first fish on a fly rod. I think I was more excited than him. It was a little hot and there was smoke from a fire this morning to throw off the fishing, but we still got some. Here's the next "trivia question"...why the hell don't I throw more dry flies. It was on in the evening.
Yeah it was fun. Sometimes it's good to take somebody who has no experience. Everything slows down, you go back to basics, relearn patience. It was pretty nice. Definitely an early season fishery. He got that fish in the first hour or so of fishing so from there on out he was a trout hunter. We fished through the heat of the day because he didn't want to leave.
Cole you probably just introduced the kid to a life long addiction ! Nice pics, Thanks for sharing. Gotta love dry fly fishing in the mountains. Thats what its all about for me.
