I have seen rattlesnakes the last three times out fishing and am thinking about buying some gaiters to protect my legs. This past Friday I was paying more attention to the mosquitos swarming me on the hike down to the river when my brother yells at me. I turn around to see that I had walked right over a small rattlesnake coiled up in front of a tiny rock. My footstep was no further than an inch from it. What an idiot....I sure was lucky!
