I figured we could have a little fun here. Honor system so DON'T GO LOOKING IT UP ! Just guess what you think is the correct answer. The question is......What trout stream, creek, or river has highest density of trout per mile of any water in California ??? I'll help out a bit and eliminate the ones I think may get some guess's. It is not the upper sac, Truckee, Or the east carson. Bring on the guess's ! I think its going to surprise some !
Hahaha that's funny. I have never even fished it but for some reason remember that stat. One of these days maybe. You also sort of gave it away by just going on that mega road trip down there. Glad you guys had fun. I can't think of a good trivia question.....Record bass on fly rod in California?

California flyrod record largemouth bass. Hmmmm, Dont follow bass much these days. First hunch is clear lake, but i'm gonna go with the sacramento/san juaquin delta ?
Since Cole dosen't know the answer to his question I cheated and looked it up. i think its 14 lbs. 8 oz. from castaic lagoon feb. of 2007. 12 lb. tippet. I guess Abelboy got it right. So what do you say Abelboy, You got a question to stump us ? Lets keep it to trout though.
Ok, the answer to my trivia since no one is guessing. There is a little salt in all lakes, but most have an outlet. Mono Lake doesn't have an outlet, only inlets. So water keeps pouring in, but not pouring out. Then when the water is evaporated, the salt is left behind... So the salt gathers there and has no way of getting out.
Richard there's also 12000 fishermen per square mile. One of my buddies fishes it often. Alturas is up north so I will assume we're talking about big valley.

Neither. Hot creek is located near the town of Mammoth. It's called the long valley caldera. A volcanic explosion formed the valley, the eruption was 2,500 times that of mt. st. helen eruption. Debris from the explosion has been found as far as Missouri.
I hit the alturas area often so I tried to 50/50 it with no lifeline left. Is hot creek near bishop? Or is that too far south? Anyways that sets up out next question Mr. RGloft....where the hell is big valley? More importantly why is it on your fishing radar???
Yo Cole, Bishop is to far south. Hot creek is north of that yet south of Mono lake. Love watching the tourists scald themselves in those waters. Great job on the fundraiser by the way!
Yeah we had a good time at the fundraiser. Missed you man!!! I thought Hot creek was down there in no mans land somewhere. Richard you may be thinking about "Hat creek" which is down the road from Alturas. My buddy John fishes Hot creek a bunch. Says there is some great dry fly action, but he also complains about how crowded it is everytime he comes back. I don't see too many people in James pics though. How was the trip out east?

The trip was great. My girls and I had a blast playing with my brother & sister's boys. My nephews are both just under two--a great age. Didn't get much fishing in this time but did manage a day out on the ocean throwing big streamers for stripers. Biggest fish was 31 inches. A handful on a 8wt. Good times.
Nice, I gotta start doing some sal****er stuff. I am so close to the ocean over here. I should probably start with surfcasting for perch. Anybody have advice for flies to use from the beach? little shrimp patterns???

Don't know what fly's to use but i do know there in surprisingly close right in the shallow breakers. I used to catch alot on spinning gear on the beaches just north of bodega bay.
