Today I ran into this article at work, and figured it's relevant given the sticklebacks in Putah:

Biologists discovered a specific region of genes involved in the genomic adaptation of sal****er populations of stickleback fish to freshwater lakes in Alaska.

Coincidentally, working at the UCD Genome center has kept me from fly fishing for a few months!
