Hello everyone,

Was looking around and found this website :). Seems like most of the fly fisherman/woman here are from norcal.

The question is, has anyone here ever fished Butte Creek up by Chico/Paradise? I am unsure if there are any river access points, because most of that land near chico is private property. I went out fishing today, even though the sac was blown out and full of chocolate, then I decided to drive around. I noticed Butte Creek still had clean and clear looking water from the highway, and started to google butte creek.

Well, if anyone knows of any river access points, it would be nice. I do only have till feb 15 to go out there :)

p.s. TIGHT LINEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Hi I've fished Butte Creek for many years. If you go up hwy 32 to Humbolt Rd.and turn right off of 32 you can follow that road down past the TankHouse, Bambi inn, and the out post. Theres a turn at the bambi inn to the Right were you can go down and fish around the bridge at the bottom of the turn thats the first place you can fish then if you stay on Humbolt Rd after you past the Outpost you come to a bridge down the road you can fish around that bridge, then if you keep traveling down Humbolt rd a ways you will come to a bridge and a camp ground off to your right thats Cherry Hill you can fish around there. thats the third location that I know of thats not private property. Most of the Flies you use there are the opposite to using on putah they like big flies as 10-14 stones, baetis nymphs, helligrimite, sw worms. Hope this helps, hope you have fun and catch lots of fish.

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the info. I'll be back up in chico this week, so hopefully it does not rain...... still though, it is the only river in that area that is not chocolate colored... so hopefully I'll do well as long as I beat the mud. Again, thanks. i appreciate it.

When I was a kid we fished butte creek with worms and always caught trout. Memory is vague but I remember it was near chico and there was an old wooden covered bridge that was sometype of landmark, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find. Make sure you check the regs.
