So I hooked up a real fighter Friday. As soon as I set the hook I could see it's silver flashes as it gave me some nasty head shakes. I was surprised to see the color of this guy once I got it closer. It went 16"-17" and was a beautiful silver and green with a big pink stripe. I'm assuming that this fish was a little too young to be in spawn mode. It seemed like it was turbo charged compared to the bigger and darker fish out there. It was a memorable fight for sure. Made me wish I had a helmet cam.
You can get a nice HD underwater helmet video camera from go pro for $300.00 http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=30. Attach it to your wading staff and you see what the fish are eating.
Fish that are about 16 to 17 inches can spawn. Male fish can spawn earlier.
last time out jvento got into a nice chromer as well 16-17"s. faught like a mother "shut your mouth" kicked his butt, but he did a good job to land it.
